Pastor
Our Pastor is Rev. Rodney Dobbs.
Rodney grew up in Ackerman, Mississippi and graduated from college at Mississippi State University.
After moving to New England in 1991, he earned a Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, MA.
Rodney previously served as pastor of the United Methodist Churches in Leominster, MA, Hillsborough, NH, Pittsburg, NH and Canaan, VT.
His hobbies include reading, playing a variety of sports, hiking, biking and enjoying time with his family. In the summer you can find Rodney playing softball in the Cape Cod Senior Softball League or biking the Cape Cod rail trails.
Rodney resides at our parsonage in Brewster with his wife Shelley and daughter Brynn. Rodney and Shelley also have two sons, Mason & Cashman, who live in MA & NH.

Lay Leader
Marilyn Bouchard is Northside’s Lay Leader. The Lay Leader fosters awareness of the role of lay people within the church and through their ministries in the community and world.

Administrative Assistant
If you have any questions about Northside UMC, Becky LaValley will be happy to assist you. Becky is in the office Monday-Friday from 8:15 am to 12:15 pm. Becky lives with her husband Keith and their three children in Harwich. She loves being with family, gardening and making organic art from the local beaches.

Audio Visual Coordinator & Operator/Assistant Office Manager
Trish Crosby
Trish resides in Brewster. She taught for 37 years before retiring to the Cape. Her interest in audio visual begun while doing the Talent Shows for her middle school.
She loves crafting, reading and her granddaughters.
Financial Administrator

Ann Berg is our Financial Administrator
She grew up in the suburbs of Boston where she married her sweetheart, Ken. Together they moved to Beverly and then to Peabody, Massachusetts where they had their 5 beautiful daughters. While living in Peabody, they opened a bakery, The Teahouse Floreal.
They often vacationed on the Cape and fell in love with it. When they decided to retire in 2001, they came to Cape Cod!
Together, Ken and Ann enjoy playing golf, listening to the Symphony and enjoying the local performing arts. Over the years they have been blessed with 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Soon after Ann arrived to the Cape, she started her position here at Northside. She loves coming here and seeing all the wonderful people living the word of the Lord.
Ann says, “This is my piece of heaven on earth”.
Director of Music Ministry
Dr. Gary Mazzola is our Director of Music Ministry.
Gary’s background is in Education and Music. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Education Cum-Laude- Music Education, a Master of Arts in Educational Administration and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Administration.
His music background is extensive. He has held positions from Music Supervisor in the Norfolk, MA. Public Schools, to Director of Music/Organist for the Federated Church of Norfolk for over 32 years. Since 2013, he has been the Interim Director of Music & Substitute Organist/Choir Director at Immaculate Conception Parish in North Easton. He is responsible for weekly worship music (organist) and overall program development through choir(s), special music, and performing ensembles for adults and children. He is a former Superintendent of Schools at Ashburnham-Westminster Regional School District prior to retiring and relocating to Cape Cod.
Sexton
Craig Dimock, a church member, is the man behind the scenes who works diligently and effectively at maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of our church.
Craig also plays the guitar and sometimes performs for us in worship, he is very talented!
Craig also has two children, a daughter named Carly and a son who is in college.

Nursery Attendant
Norma Burns provides Nursery Care for preschoolers during our Sunday morning worship.
Pastor Emeritus
Born in Indiana, Dr. Fred Yarger was educated at The University of Evansville and received his Masters of Divinity Degree from Boston University School of Theology and a Doctrate from Andover-Newton Theological School.
He retired from Northside UMC in 2000 after 45 years of Ministry in the New England Annual Conference. He serves as coordinator of Helping Hands and the Katrina Mission Team. He also teaches and preaches occasionally.
Pastor Fred’s passion is traveling with his lovely wife Barbara, who worked as a Registered Nurse for 20 years. They have been to 65 countries all across the world! Pastor Fred and Barbara reside in South Dennis.
